7.6 Earthquake Padang, Indonesia: On September 30th, 2009, a massive 7.6 earthquake rocked Indonesia. The UN projected 1,115 killed with as many as 4000 people buried in the rubble with hundreds missing. Our Indonesia Earthquake Rescue Outreach Team came together and with the help of TBN and our faithful Streetwise Ministry partners, flew over 9,000 miles to take Jesus to the devastated people of Indonesia. We took Jesus to the slums of Jakarta, to the leper community... to Padang, Pariaman... to villages with NO CHURCH... to people who have never heard of Jesus!We had a kidnapping attempt against us, our van was stoned and we were arrested by the National Police. Bobby Chance and Bill Henderson next to Friend Ships responding to Hurricane Ike victims near Galveston, TX

Hurricane Ike: Streetwise Ministry joined up again with Bill Henderson and TBN to respond to the devastation of Hurricane Ike that destroyed much of the Galveston, TX coastline. Homes were wiped off the map, people were killed and displaced and there was little in the way of food and water for the beleaguered residents. They joined the awesome ministry of Friend Ships, headed up by Don and Sondra Tipton. Bobby and Brother bill lived on a former Coast Guard search and Rescue ship and were flown into the hardest hit areas by helicopter. They participated with Friend Ships in singing, preaching and feeding hundreds of people at a makeshift tent city.

Bobby Chance in Myanmar ministering to children after Cyclone Nargis disaster

Cyclone Nargis: On May 2nd, 2008, Cyclone Nargis slammed into Myanmar (formerly Burma) with a vengeance! Due to the iron-fisted military in Myanmar, all foreign disaster relief aid was denied. The government allowed thousands of men, women and children to starve to death and die without medical help. Bobby joined Brother Bill Henderson of HIS Global Relief, along with TBN, and flew to Rangoon, Myanmar where God miraculously got them into the country. Bobby, Bill and the team held underground church services, got into refugee camps and fed and ministered to thousands of people, mostly women and children. They later witnessed to the Buddhist monks in front of the temples.

Bobby Chance helped disaster victims after Hurricane Katrina

Hurricane Katrina: Bobby and Dot Chance know when disaster strikes, hurting people need immediate help... and they also need loving and caring ministry in Jesus' Name. When Katrina hit New Orleans, Bobby and Dot took their 30 foot motor home that had been recently donated to Streetwise, filled it to overflowing with food, clothing and emergency supplies for the suffering in the city. Volunteers drove the motor home from Los Angeles to New Orleans and gave the home and supplies to Pastor Troy Bohn of RAVEN Ministries. (Pastor Troy's home had been destroyed and they lost everything) RAVEN distributed the supplies, led thousands of people to Jesus and Pastor Troy and his family lived in the motor home for months following. Bobby and Dot made many trips to New Orleans to reach our for Jesus!

9-11-2001 New York City outreach - Bobby Chance with National Guardsman

9/11 New York City: Streetwise Ministry launched an ongoing response to the 9/11 terror attack in New York City. Having ministered in The City for years, Bobby partnered with longtime friend and Abounding Grace Pastor Rick Del Rio, and regularly took to the streets of New York City singing and preaching the message that Jesus Saves. With Pastor Rick's favor with the NYPD and New York City officials, they were allowed to minister up close and personal to the firemen, police and emergency responders who worked daily at Ground Zero.
