I am a life-long resident of Sonoma County, California. My four grandparents came to California early in the 19th century by boat from Europe. They came from Germany, Switzerland, Sweden and Denmark. They all passed through Ellis Island. My mother's family settled in Petaluma, California. There they lived on a farm and raised chickens. My mother candled (checked for blood spots) and cleaned a lot of eggs in her youth. Petaluma was once known as the "egg basket of the world". My father's family lived in Petaluma for a while and then moved to Sebastopol. There they raised vegetables and various farm animals. We now live next door to that property. My father's mother was well known for her yodeling but she died when her father was about 9 years old. I became a Christian when I was 28 years old. I went to school at Gravenstein Elementary School, Analy High School, Santa Rosa Junior College, and Sonoma State University. I have a B.A. in Mathematics. I have worked as a computer programmer/thin film designer at OCLI in Santa Rosa, Ca. and as a Mathematics Teacher at Santa Rosa Christian School for eight years. I returned to Santa Rosa Junior College and completed three certificates in web page programming in December 2002. I worked as an intern for one semester at Advance Fibre Communications and as a programmer at PBHS in Santa Rosa. I currently operate a part time website design and programming business, hjorgensen.com, from our home. Jere and I have been married since 1973.I have traveled to Russia four times and to Kyrgyzstan twice with an organization called Co-Mission (a teacher exchange program). I went to southern Siberia in February 1998! Talk about cold. They made huge steps and a slide out of ice chunks in the downtown square. Then it "warmed up" to freezing and they had to tear it down. It was very cold for a California girl. When I traveled to Irktusk, Russia, in June 2001, I learned Siberia is beautiful in summer. There is lush green grass and many wild flowers. The Russian people are wonderful. They would give you the shirt off their back. I was amazed how many people could speak fluent English without ever having met a native speaker. They are in some ways much more knowledgeable than us. My trip to Kyrgyzstan in March 2005 was cut short because of a coupe! Because we had to leave the country a week early, I spent 3 extra days in Istanbul, Turkey. It is a very interesting city where East meets West. In September 2005 I took a trip to Brazil with Global Awakening Ministry and Randy Clark. It was a trip that changed my life, my view of God and how I pray for people. I feel like I walked in the Book of Acts. In a three week period, over 10,000 people were healed and many came to know Jesus Christ as their Savior. We witnessed God open blind eyes and deaf ears. The lame walked, tumors disappeared, all kinds of diseases healed and demons were cast out of people. While in Brazil, I had a vision of the people from Mozambique. It was like Paul in the Bible seeing the man from Macedonia. In June 2006, I traveled to Mozambique with Global Awakening to join with Iris Ministries. It was the hardest missionary trip I have been on. It was hot and dusty and our accommodations were primitive. Yet the things I witnessed and experienced again changed my life. I entered new realms of intercession and received prayer from some of the most powerful people on the planet. I met and listened to the testimonies of people who have been used by God to raise people from the dead. In Fall 2006, I returned to Brazil with Global Awakening and again saw so many miracles. One 14 year old boy, who was very hard of hearing, received a healing from God and was able to hear normally. I will never forget the look on his face when I removed my hands from his ears and he could hear clearly. He began sobbing and hugged his mom. On this trip, God moved powerfully and cast out demons from a number of people. It is very sobering to see people who are possessed by the devil. What an awesome privilege to see the demons leave by the power of the Name of Jesus. In July 2007, I traveled to the Foursquare Convention in Jerusalem, Israel. We also toured the northern part of Israel - Nazareth, Tiberias, the Sea of Galilee and many other sites. I reaffirmed by baptism in the Jordan River. I stood on the same temple steps where Jesus preached sermons - it was an wonderful moment. September 2007 was a new adventure with Fresh Fire Ministries and Todd Bentley. We traveled to Mbarara, Uganda for a four day crusade and then on to the capital city of Kampala. The crusade was a wonderful time in the Lord. So many people came into the Kingdom of God, were healed and delivered. One night, as the healing anointing moved over the crowd, they began to throw mattressed and mats (by which people had been carried into the meeting on), canes and crutches onto the stage. One woman who had been paralyzed for 10 years, came up onto the stage and walked for everyone to see. I prayed for a deaf/mute boy who received God's healing touch and began to hear and speak. God is awesome! Fresh Fire Ministries has an orphange in Kampala called the Uganda Jesus Village. We were able to spend time ministering to the orphans. Their stories of capture by the northern rebels were heart-breaking. Some of them even had seen their parents murdered. Yet now, they sing and dance with joy because God is their Father and they are being taken care of by the Fresh Fire Ministry staff. If you would like to keep abreast of my adventures with the Lord, go to Anna Ministry. Hope you enjoyed getting to know our family. |
